The South Australian Health & Medical Institute (SAHMRI) is built alongside the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. This new facility makes up an important part of the NRAH Precinct, strengthening the links between medical research and clinical care.

Located in central Adelaide, and adjacent to nearby railway lines, Embelton was engaged by the contractor to provide an engineered building isolation solution to prevent ground-borne vibration from disturbing critical research experiments undertaken within the building. Working closely with the structural engineers and acoustic consultants, Embelton designed, tested and supervised the installation of 518 multiplate rubber bearings over which the 25,000m2 institute is built.
